Hi,
I need to find out I can get the information of the maximum Partition size of a HDD. (i.e. Script-or Textbased). I have a RAID-Set and i need to use the max. Capacity for this Partition. I want to create it with gdisk (Tool from Symantec Norton Ghost).
Have anyone an idea how I can get these information?

Well, the limiting factors will be:
The actual capacity of the disk (take into account the capacity after partitioning and formatting will be less)The number of cylinders
Any BIOS or RAID controller limitation that might exist
The maximum partition size possible using whatever file system (NTFS, ext2fs, FAT16, SCIX, etc.) you're using
The operating system you're using
You will need to know the limitations of the hardware (drive capacity, controller, etc.) and the software (operating system, file system, etc.) you're using. As for the hardware, the manufacturer should be able to provide you with all the information you will need.
As for the software, it isn't hard to find out the maximum partition size a given operating system and/or files ystem can handle. (A quick search on the 'net can turn up this information in spades!)
