Mapping a drive over an LPT connect

OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: 2.7 Ghz P4/512
Comment:

I have succesfully connected two XP computers w/ a Direct Parallel Cable, but I can't map any drives onto the guest computer.
I've been using the line:
net use Z: \\Host name\c
the guest computer says that it can't find the path.
Is there something different about an LPT network?
