low level format

Try running scandisk before formatting

Maxtor also has a utility on their website. Sometimes it can fix stuff.
I have a 2.1 gig Maxtor drive that has bad sectors and scandisk has just blocked out those sectors and I have used it that way with no problems for the last 2 years.
Summary: I know that many of you have been through this conversation many times before, but this time it is a bit different. I am not asking if I should LLF (low-level format) my drive. I know it is neccesary....
