Check your protocols. Does the client have the same protocols, domain/workgroup, dns suffixes as the server?

well..
i set the client the same way i set the win98:
use dhcp
workgroup: office
domain: office
comp name: faxxy

on the dos client if i enter a username that does not exist it replies:
"You were logged on, but have not been validated by a server."

only when i enter a user that exists (doesn't matter what password i use) i get
"error 5: access is denied"

thanks

i can by the way connect to a shared resource on a machine that doesn't care if i am logged on to the domain or not.

This may help, but NWC3.0 uses a considerable amount of base memory, and FreeDOS still has some foibles.

M$ Virtual PC and MS-DOS 6.22 may be better!
