Locked / Hide Data command

I want to locked / hide date command in msdos, becuase, my users can change the date/time and it creates problem so I don't want to allow the user to change the date/time, I tried it but no success, anyone has some ideas.

You could rename the DATE and TIME commands in COMMAND.COM. (You must use a HEX editor to change them.) However DATE and TIME functions still exist in QBASIC and in 3rd Party Applications.

I opened the command file in Hex editor, but it is showing HEX addresses and some other information, How can I rename the date/time command in HEX editor.

Backup your COMMAND.COM Open COMMAND.COM in your HEX EDITOR. DATE and TIME labels are stored near the end of the file.
Your HEX Editor should have the ability to toggle ASCII Display.
My DATE occurs at offset HEX C181
Boot your system to test. I would recommend doing it on a floppy.

The old Nortons Dos - NDOS, allowed you to alias System commands - Such as DATE, TIME, FDISK, FORMAT etc., such that the average user will access YOUR predefined ALIAS, rather than the System Command of the same name. Since NDOS was a Licensed-to-Symantec version of 4DOS, I'd look at 4DOS for your security. URL is in "HomePage" above. You may find a copy for sale in one of the many Auction Sites.
