Comment: Does anyone know, where i can download a LLF-Tool for a Fujitsu MPA3043 IDE-HDD. I do NOT need a zero-fill tool or advise, how to erase parts of a hdd on high-level. Please don't answer to my question if you think that zerofill and a true LLF is the same, because it isn't. I have a hdd with some physical defects, also a LLF is the only real solution. This drive has 11 spare cylinders / head, which can be remapped to bad sectors in the LLF process. (at least with fujitsu's own tool)

Reply: (edit)When doing a LLF it is best to use one from the makers if available. Have you tried Fujitsu's website? The place to start is www.fujitsu-siemens.com If not available, I recommend PCCHECK or PC-CHECK for general purpose LLF. However, I take on board that you have bad sectors. Have you tried the dos format command with option /C set. If the sectors can be used it resets them as such. An hdd with a few bad sectors is not a bad thing and liveable with. It is when they begin to breed, that the hdd should be considered ready for the bin. Good luck - keep us posted.
