Comment:

Is there any way to make the "DIR" command to list files in a directory (with wildcards for instance), but at the same time, to EXCLUDE a designated file (or group of files), that is, files which should be filtered-out? Are there any switches in DIR, or maybe other commands to achieve that?

I appreciate any information. Thanks.

You do not say which version of DOS.

However you can download a copy of MS-DOS 5.0 Command Referance and MS-DOS 6 Resoruce Kit which includes all command filters at my Resource Pages at:

http://www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk

Or click on link at top of my message.
