Does anyone know of a working link to get the killhd.bat utility?

I've done a search on Google and all I got was broken links or sites describing the program.

TY in advance.

No, I'm not a puke hacker. We have a company called New Horizons teaching PC classes at our company. After the class, we wipe the drives clean for the next class. students are shown how to partition, format, etc.

This program is quick and works well for just this situation.

why don't you dolts quit jumping to the worst conclusions before you post.

If you are such a hot shot, how come you needed a copy in the first place. Why not just use FORMAT C: \U for unconditional format, it has the same effect anyway!

well mister no name if you were such a hot shot you would realize that FORMAT C: \U doesn't delete partitions, it formats, doesn't it. No it doesn't have the same effect

Also we are working with both FAT16 and NTFS partitions. using a DOS disk to format won't work on an NTFS partition will it?

Geez, what the hell is wrong with you people. All I asked for was this utility and I get slammed by some no name idiot who has no idea what he is talking about.

Hey no name, go by a computers for dummies book and leave the real computing issues to someone else.

That is what FDISK is for. It deletes and creates partitions. As for NTFS you use the setup program for Windows NT, 2000 or XP to create, delete and format partitions.

I'm a bit surprised that someone teaching computer classes wouldn't know that, and even more so that they would try to use some old hacker program made to do damage to people's computer.

Mark: did you not read his answer quote:

"After the class, we wipe the drives clean for the next class. students are shown how to partition, format, etc.
This program is quick and works well for just this situation."

He dose a quick wipe after the class.to get ready for the next class,He then teaches them to do with progs like fdisk etc.

And hackers is a missused,it just means people who want to learn about how pc work,
The trouble is they know more then most other pc users.

That program was not made for that purpose. It was made for the same purposes that viruses are made. To intentionally delete a users entire hard drive, and the way it does it is no doubt not the safest way. Why not let the students use FDISK at the beginning of each class to delete the existing partition and create the new one. That way they learn how to do it without risking damage to the machine. Would that not make more sense?

Microsoft actually created the killhd.bat EXACTLY for the purpose of completely wiping your hard drive. Leave this guy alone!!! Do you honestly think Jonathon would post the killhd.bat file on computing.net if it was a hacker tool? Come on people get real!

And Kurt is going to be the one using killhd.bat, not the students... Just ignore the kiddies Kurt, they're still a little green.

I see many posts by people with no name. I do not think they are always the same one? Some give good advive while other post pure rubbish. Its about time you had to type a real name before a message is posted. But it would more than likly end up as zzzz or ripshop or some other silly name anyway.

Kurt please do not post angery replys That is just what this guy wanted. He was out to wind you up in the first place.

KILLHDD.BAT does not delete partions, it only wipes them clean,

KILLHDD only wipes the Primory Partion by default. FDISK & FORMAT will do all you want to do and more. On DOS or Linux Drives. But then again you are the teacher, What do I know.

Actually I'm not the teacher, just the poor tech that gets to clean up after class!

I have never used it yet, but it was recomended for this purpose by the instructor.

Pope, yeah, you're right. I shouldn't have gotton so defensive. But really, all I wanted was the utility and I got barraged with stupid responses. I really have better things to do then deal with this.
