Specs: DOS

I can't run Multiplan (mp.com) in DOSBox. I've just started using DOS emulators though, any ideas?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiplan

Released 1982 stopped 1983/4 therefore it probably was developed to run on MS-DOS2 and a 186/286 PC, I believe DOSBOX (Windows Software) emulates a later system, but I could be wrong....

✔ Best Answer

I suggest you install a true virtual machine like MS Virtual PC or open source VirtualBox (both free) since DOSBox is aimed to run legacy DOS games though it can execute many other applications. The drawback is the need to install as guest operating system a copy of DOS, but you can use FreeDOS, the free open source DOS clone that is 99% compatible with MS DOS and better from many points of view. About Jolicloud 's note I assure any application developed for early 8086/88 processors can run on higher Intel versions up to current models

If you decide to follow the above lane and choose MS Virtual PC, ignore the message it runs under Proferssional/Business Windows versions only: that is for MS maintenance policies only and the emulator works perfectly and absolutely in a legal way.
