i am workin with c/c++ now am thinkin of a project like a chatserver/lan gaming so i would like to have some infomation regarding style & way of programing with I/O ports using dos/win98/nt os kindly help me in this regard

Check the libīs there are some funcions for I/O some are interruptions and other are funcions(i donīt remember the lib, but i think is the dos.h) if you can wait may be i can give you some code in C made by me that works good for the rs323(serial db9) the aplications is something like a chat but only works 1:1, if you are interested mail me.
