HELP !!!! Please.
I have reformatted my HDD to reinstall Win 95. Even after using fdisk & format command dos keeps on coming up with "invalid media type" . I removed the HDD from this computer and installed in another pc and reformatted under win 95. It still comes up with the same message.

Please help me

Ewww....hmmm...have you tried fdisk /mbr

this attempts to fix the master boot record...it is the only thing I can think of that might remotely fix what you are describing

Hi,

I think this kind of error can arise if you formated your drive in FAT32 and then use boot disk with FAT16 (e.g. DOS 6.22). If your drive is accessible in that another computer where you have it formated, check what file system is on your drive after all.

1...Use Norton Diskdoctor/Diskedit to recover your Fat/Master boot record
2...Fdisk..(Any DOS will do meanwhile)
3...Run Sys.com from your dos install disk 1.
4...Format C:/U/S
