Surf to:

http://www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk/

open the ms-dos resource page,

download "OLDDOS.EXE"

it should have interlnk.exe & intersvr.exe

If not, e-mail me and I'll send them to you.

Install Red Hat Linux 6.2 availaible free in this months Australian Personal Computer Magazine. It's a great operating system, never crashes and you can kiss all your problems goodbye. Also included is Suns Star Office. Sorry but Dos and Windows from suffers too many problems.

If Linux had a large software base, I'd probably switch. I even tried to isntall Linux once but it wasn't an easy task.

However, Windows, with all of it's faults, problems, curses, hexes, demons, bugs, dinosaurs, ... is still the king. All pay homage to the king.

NT is nice. 9x crashes if you look at it wrong. DOS is stable but limited. Linux is confusing to any non-UNIX person. It all depends on what you like. Don't try and push your OS on others.

I've been running win98 for about a year. I use VB, MSOffice97, Passport (FTP), Turbo C++, FrontPage and a number of other applications. During that time I've only had windows crash less than 5 times in a year. If you know what you're doing you can avoid these crashes.

I will admit though that Linux is a great OS, I have it on a second pc and it's never crashed. But it is a little more challenging to use and not an OS for just anybody.

Some Guy: Ever misused an API call in VB on 98? Every time I've done so '98 comes a tumbling down. I write code for a living and don't need to reboot my machine every typo. NT is stable for that. Perhaps I'm wrong and you've found a way to make it work for you, but I gave up out of lack of interest. (Plus I miss Task Manager in 98! No VC++ = no PView = no Task Manager equivalent. :( )

Simple. I never use VB at all! Who needs to?

And if you miss Task Manager so much, Come and look at my copy of Windows 98, Ive still got Taskman.exe!

Over to you Doomsday (Nice name!)

I do. :( I hate VB. The IDE crashes all of the time. BUT I have to develop user interfaces in it for our software. Any real work I do in VC++. :) Is it the same as the one on NT? The one that lets you kill processes, not just applications? Okee, back to you Some [Other] Guy. :) (Thanks!)
