Hello. I have Windows XP currently installed on my computer C: drive. I have 2 other drives (d: -1.8 gigs and f:-165 MB) I want to install DOS 6.22 on my F: drive and I want to be able to have the option when I start my PC to either use Windows XP or DOS 6.22. How can this be done so I wont screw my system up? Thanks

i did this all the time on my pc. i have windows 2000 on my primary/master hard drive. i installed ms-dos 6.22 on my secondary/master hard drive. just to be safe from doing something dumb, i unplugged my primary/master drive and then booted up from an ms-dos installation disk. after installing ms-dos, i plugged my main drive back up. now, the nifty thing is once i boot from my secondary drive, it automatically becomes the c: drive because ms-dos can't see an ntfs partition. using a modern asus motherboard, i can just hit esc right after post and get a nifty little menu asking which drive i want to boot from. if you don't have a snappy kewl asus motherboard or one that can do this, then you will need to install a program that does allow you to choose. unless there is a built-in way that xp/2000 has to deal with multi-boot.

Remember your DOS 6.22 partition has to be FAT16. It can't use FAT32 or NTFS (Win98/WinXP's preferred partitions).
