installing cd rom drivers in DOS

i have just refromatted by hd, but i didn't have the cd rom drivers. Now i have them i need to install them in DOS ( because i have no other os, because i cant install one without cd rom support ). How do i install the drivers in dos?

Go to bootdisk.com and download a boot disk that matches your windows version. It has generic cdrom support and should work.

get oakcdrom.sys off of the win98 cd or from someones 98 machine. it's in c:\windows\command\ebd\oakcdrom.sys in config.sys device=c:\oakcdrom.sys /d:name
