I'm trying to install xp on a laptop that has no operatig system and no cd rom. I want to use a null modem cable, data cable to navigate to the cd rom of the xp machine and perform install

If you are using FAT file systems on the hard drives of both the PC and Laptop run http://www.briggsoft.com/fmdos.htm ** off a WIN98SE OEM boot disk available from www.bootdisk.com on each to transfer contents of XP CD to Laptop hard drive.

**can also use lapLinkV from www.laplink.com
