_INS5176._MP .... Can't install Scanner

I've read another entry about this file, but it said to delete the file as it is a temporary file that windows creates. I searched my whole computer and there wasn't an _ins5176._mp file on it in the first place. I am trying to install HP Scanjet 3300c scanner software onto Windows XP, and it has a problem with this same file. I searched the whole computer and found nothing about the _ins5... file. the CD-ROM that i am installing from has no ins5... file. Where is this thing located, and why is it not letting me install my scanner?

The same problem was worked through when Windows ME first came out. You either wait for HP to come out with new drivers or use the imaging software that comes with Windows. (I have never seen Windows XP, but I assume it has an IMAGING application in PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES?)

it works now with te scanner and camera wizard in XP
