Unless the USB device you are using can make a direct USB call to BIOS, the short answer is no. Some mice and keyboards are able to do it sometimes, under some circumstances. Check with the web site of the devices manufacturer. As a general rule USB just doesn't work in DOS. Which is why you would probably have to beat me with a stick to get me to hookup any USB devices to my machines. You can checkout the public forums at USB.org for more information, just enter the word DOS in the search box.

I seriously doubt it. When USB first emerged and was supposed to run with Win95 even those promises did not live up to expectations.

DOS USB drivers exist. I have found PCMCIA DOS USB drivers for a CD-ROM. they might not be very common though. For what devices do you need DOS USB drivers ?
Me I would try the support pages of my manufacturer's device WEB sit.

i have a hp printer on the sub port. i want to access it from a dos program. can this be done?
thanks

I have a laptop computer. If I want to have a GHOST backup of the harddisk, I may have to take the harddisk out and backup in my desktop computer. If DOS can support USB, then I can backup my harddisk directly to an external USB harddisk.
But how can I do it ?
