I need to find mouse.com in DOS to repair corrupted file

Scenerio: The mouse in a system with DOS/Windows v3.1 isn't working. I need to find out how to find the mouse.com file in the DOS directory & how to replace the corrupted file. Information is needed ASAP PLEASE!

You can either look in your autoexec.bat file to see where it is loading from, or simply use the dos command dir mouse.com /s (make sure you start from the root of c: i.e. cd c:\ and then: dir mouse.com /s)and it will display the location of the file. Sometimes mice use a .sys file which loads in the config.sys. You may need to check both to see where the driver is loading from. Hope this helps.

Thanks Roger. You've been a great help. I kept trying that with my computer, but I have Windows 98 SE, DOS doesn't work the same and it was making me crazy! Thanks, again.
