I need to copy c:\ to another HD...

I need to copy c:\ to another HD, but if I do it in windows 2000 I just get the message that some of the files is in use and it stops copying. When I try in dos It only copys one directory at a time. The command "copy c: e:" doesen`t work.

learn to use xcopy by typing:
xcopy /?

go into dos and type xcopy /? |more
for all the options.

In windows,
Go to Start. Then run. Type in the following. (full command is at bottom)
copies to D:

From C: to 32 there are no spaces.
Then 1 space.
Then C:\*.* space d: space /h space /c space /e space /k space /y

Enter


c:\windows\command\xcopy32 c:\*.* d: /h /c /e /k /y

Just download Drive copy or Ghost from internet they both work fine!
