Hi guys i posted a request in the URL:
http://www.computing.net/dos/wwwboard/forum/11254.html
Please i need more help about this situation.....I couldnt get to any answer.
Thanx
Ill be checking out this in a few hours for any response.
Thanx in advanced

Well the responses to that post where all valid and should have sorted you're problem out from what I can see.
Time to get an IDE cd I think.

You have tired using a Windows 98 Bootdisk? The Windows 98 Bootdisk comes with CDROM driver support, as long as you choose to start with CDROM support.

Hi
you hav'nt got a Promise Controler Card. I say this because I have one with 2 hards and a CdRom & CDRW drives on it, but when I boot up using a win98 bootdisk the cd drives are not seen by the win98 drivers. I am using WinXP but I don't see how that could make any difference.

The cdrom is connected on a sound card that has a proprietry cdrom if you read mate0's first post link you'll all see what I mean.

Actually I think he came very close in
connecting to the CD Drive. In a response
in the other Posting he had a message that
the driver supports .....
I think all that was missing was the right
port address.Any way after the back and forth he finally
identifies the card as ACER Magic 30,
which according to one reference is a
Soundbaster Vibra 16.Maybe we can find an install that will
automatically find the address.Fustrating isn't it.

If it is a Vibra 16 shouldn't it have an IDE interface? I know my two vibras do.
This maybe the problem. A non IDE cdrom on an IDE interface.
Here's dos driver link for the acer magic 30

To: hmmm
Did we ever know that the CD drive ever
worked with that card?I think we are going to need more information
up front before we can start solving some
of these problems.Any way I see that you try to answer some
of the same postings.Have a good night and good problem solving.

Hi guys
Thanx for your replays, but i guess none of these answered my message, anyhow, i just wanted to fix up this problem, ....if no solution , rather buy a cd-rom...

this is the URL where i started:http://www.computing.net/dos/wwwboard/forum/11254.html
