Install Windows 9x. It comes with DOS 7.x. The latest version of real DOS is 6.22 and can be found here.

Whats the point installing 200mb's of crap just to get the 6 megs worth of dos 7.0?

Considering the boot disk contains the most useful dos commands (plus command.com), id say it wasa good reply, especially if the guy aint got access to a win95 cd...

The link specified to DOS 6.22 is broken. Ultra Frowny cause I thought I had finally found it.

Secondly, in all respects, a windows boot disk wont even come close. I need the full DOS 6.22, the real one, not some junked 3rd party distro..

NOTE: The more I learn about DOS the more I have to leave windows to get things done efficiently.
