Subject: I can't boot my windows after uninstalling Linux |
Comment: I installed Linux Rehat 6.2 and then I decided to uninstall it. But, when I boot the computer I can't boot to my windows98. What have I done to my computer? Please, anyone with an idea I'd appreciate. I don't want to reformat my hard-drive so that's not an option. I need help desparately. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)W0rm is a great example of why Linux has a hard time in the client world... Every reply from this dick is derrogatory. Word to the wise... Ignore comments like "RTFM" from assholes like W0rm and Pirate, as is may be that they just don't have the knowledge to provide an intelligent response...

Reply: (edit)You need to zap the master boot record and then reinstall Red Hat Linux again. or if you install the WIN98 upgrade it won't destroy your data, and remove lillo boot loader.

Reply: (edit)you will have to reformat your hard drive, but before you do that, you can boot into dos using a recovery cd and then use a program called interlink to transfer the files you dont want to lose to someone else's computer via serial or parallel ports. i tell you this because i have the same problem right now, except i just deleted my whole linux partition and the program's name was grub.
