No dos versions came with a terminal program. There are some communications programs that can be purchased for windows 3.1 Windows 95 came with DUN and Hyperterminal. I downloaded clasicz.zip to try zcom1 for dos. 110kb. There are others easer to use but this has z modem

BANANACOM is a fairly easy to install and use terminal program for DOS. You shouldn't have much trouble doing a search and finding a copy of it.
The installation is simple and it will, in most cases, autodetect your modem.
