If anyone could explain how to I can connect a DOS computer (MSDOS 6.22) to the internet.
I am attempting to access the internet through a router using DHCP. And yes I could do all of this with Windows. But WHY?
DOS is the best

You need a Packet Driver for your Network Iinterface Card, should be available with the Driver Package from Dell.
You need a Web Browser, either DosLynx or Arachne. See this page:
http://users.pandora.be/mydotcom/li...
http://www.tropinet.com/dos.html
http://www.ethermanage.com/ethernet...
Please be aware that surfing the WWW is slowish, after all **.DOS is a single-tasking O/S..MS-DOS 6.22 has MEMMAKER you need to run this to maximise base memory as only 640K is allocated, DosLynx uses around 300k, whilst Arachne uses 5550k at launch. Packet Drivers around 35k. Extended Memory maxes out at 63MB.

All you need is Packet driver (for network card) as mentioned and Arachne (www, ftp, email). Arachne can be downloaded from here: http://www.cisnet.com/glennmcc/
Packet drivers are available here:

You should also check disks you've got with your NIC or with your mainboard (if the network card is integrated).
