Being an inexperienced dos user, please can you explain to me, what dos commands you type to play a game on dos, i use windows 95. i downloaded a dos game off the internet, the game says that you type "secret", but i've tried that by itself, without success, i've tried a web search, but, they seem to cater for experienced literate dos users, which i'm not, thanking you in anticipation.

Hi,
All DOS games are different so there is no common method. As a first step open Windows Explorer, find your game folder and look for SECRET file. By the way you can find a few SECRET files with different extention. In that case at the first place always try to run *.BAT file, then *.COM file, and then *.EXE file. Let me know about results.
Good luck, Igor M

First you hace to change to the directory where your game is located using the CD command. Then search for your game with the DIR *.EXE or DIR *.COM command. Then, you type in the name of your game.

Hey send a complete text of this topic:
