Comment:
Does anybody knows how to implement a direct conection between MS DOS and Mac Os X?

I have a point of sale running on a PC MS DOS (the MS DOS included in Win 98, I'm not running win, only MS DOs) and another computer, a Mac (MAc os X Panther) and a crossover cable conected to both.
I'm also running MS DOS Box on the Mac, optionally.

If is there a genious who knows how to establish the connection, my mail is: hectordomingo@prodigy.net.mx

Thank you.

TCP/IP is the most compatible networking protocol and M$ Network Client 3 needs to be setup as both Server and Client on the MS-DOS 7.1x (aka WinDOS) PC. {Before anyone shouts it does not matter wether the hard drive is FAT12, 16 or 32 formatted}

You will need a CAT5 Ethernet CrossOver Cable and a Network Card in the WinDOS PC which has a NDIS3 Driver available.

Good luck I have only undertaken this with MAC OS 7.xx many moons ago. OSX AFAIK fully supports TCP/IP.........
