How to network dos 5.0

CPU/Ram: 166/32

I have an old pentium pc i installed dos 5.0 on with a old 3com isa network card.

Can someone explain how to network this with tcp/ip with dhcp to obtain ip automaticly?

I tried wown.com but didn't work or I did something wrong and couldn't get any others computers on network to see it. So I have formated and reinstalled dos and here i am awaiting suggestions.

YES Network Client 3 is the way to go it is all explained at

http://www.wown.com/j_helmig/dosclien.htm

There nothing else to add except make sure you have ample free base memory.

How do I make sure ample free base memory?

Is this why I get the error 8: There is not enough memory available?

I thought 32 meg of ram was plenty!

RAM is mostly extended memory.

Base or conventional is the 640K (more or less) available out of the first Meg of RAM

Use of Google might allow you to ask more informed questions based on some understanding of computer terminology.


I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime
