cd ..

Will also move you up one level. So if you are in:

c:\windows\system

typing in cd ..

will move you up to c:\windows

then typing in cd ..

will move you up to c:\

Couldn't be simpler... Just copy your COMMAND.COM into C:\ directory and use it from there!

Looks like the person with the question is not catching everything thats being said here. Its easy to overlook if you dont know how to do it. To get from c:\windows to c:\, you have to type "cd..". That is, "cd" then two periods.
