" i have read many post but they have not really helped."

Perhaps this one won't either then.

You will need a DOS mouse driver - if you don't have the specific Logitech driver, try CuteMouse (v1.9)

Read the instructions - it varies, but most mouse drivers are loaded from autoexec.bat (if the driver's extension is COM or EXE) - you just enter the line there, usually with the complete DOS PATH, possibly loaded 'high' (LH) - although that is automatic with CuteMouse. You can also load the driver from the command line, if desired

If the mouse driver's extension is SYS, it's loaded from config.sys by a DEVICE= statement

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I always use MSmouse v9.01

It's usually smart enough to grab the mouse. If not, there are plenty of options.

Either of the above should work but if all else fails, try this one...

I just loaded this driver with 6.22. I'm using the TrackPoint mouse that is part of the IBM 760XL laptop, and it picked it right up.

I had to extract the DOS file in XP because DOS couldn't execute it, but then I just transferred it to floppy and installed it on the laptop with DOS.
