Hi,
You can set your computer to dual boot Win98 and DOS6.22. But it's only possible if you still have FAT16 file system on your hard drive. If you convert to FAT32 there is no way to use DOS 6.22.
To set dual boot with DOS 6.22 make as follows:
1. Get Io.sys, Msdos.sys, Command.com, Autoexec.bat, and Config.sys files from DOS 6.22 and rename them to Io.dos, Msdos.dos, Command.dos, Autoexec.dos, and Config.dos respectively.
2. Copy these renamed files on the root of C: drive.
3. To the [Options] section of Win98 MSDOS.SYS file add the line
BootMulti=14. Create DOS directory on C: drive and copy into it all needed DOS 6.22 files.
5. Configure Autoexec.dos and Config.dos files as you need for DOS 6.22.
Now you will be able to load DOS 6.22 holding down Ctrl key while booting and then selecting Previous DOS Version from boot menu (or just holding down F4 key while booting).
Good luck, Igor M

My recomendation to you, especialy if you are using fat 32, is NOT TO INSTALL MS-DOS 6.22, but copy all the files you want to use to c:\windows\command, overwriting NONE of the DOS 7.1 files.
If you reset the READ ONLY, SYSTEM, and HIDDEN attributes of msdos.sys, (ie type: attrib c:\msdos.sys -r -s -h
), then you can stop windows from automatically loading by changing the line: "BootGUI="1 to "BootGUI=0". DOS 7.1 is better then 6.22
