I have the following harddisks :

C
D
E (cdrom)
F
G

I need to find the path for the operating to know where it lies?

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

If I want to access the F drive - what should name the multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partitiion(0)?

First of all, this is the DOS forum, not the Windows 2000 forum. Windows 2000 is based upon the NTFS file system, NOT DOS.

Second of all, Huh? (Sorry, I just loaded (yesterday) Windows 2000 Professional over 98SE on my backup system to learn about it. I'm finding it (being used to DOS) a learning experience as well.) My C drive is now NTFS and all of my DOS "handy items" are now moot.

Hey Dan Penny ; )

Welcome to the "DOS" forum - although we're considering a possible name change - something like:

Not the XP Not the NT, NO - it's the DOS Forum

What do you think? A little ambiguous? Too subtle perhaps??

Some people are like Slinkies™, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...
