I need to delete a file vmm.vxd in the c:\windows\system\vmm32 What is the process, I have already copied it to disk. It's in a Win 98 ed.1

del [filename] At any dos prompt type "del c:\windows\system\vmm32\[filename].vxd" You may have to remove the system file tag first if so browse to c:\windows\command and type "attrib -s -h -r c:\windows\system\vmm32\[filename].vxd" without the quotation marks

Easy question: How do I open a DOS prompt? I have a downloaded file with an invalid, superlong name that cannot be deleted or moved by conventional means. right clicking on the file doesn't work. I read in archived comments how one should go into DOS and fix it but that advice was not intended for dumb people.
