How do I change the volume of my audio in DOS?

When I boot into Dos to play a game, my volume is too quiet. I can hardly hear a thing!

blech. I recommend looking around at simtel.net for "sassi", it can supposedly accomplish what you suggest. I'm not sure how well it'd work for major games though, like doom or the like. The best thing you could do is find a volume option in the setup of your game.
