Way I used to do it is write a small batch file which calls up the program. Then add the last line to the batch file of
EXIT
and since the program runs within the batch, exiting the batch closes the program. Is that what you were wanting?

If you are using a shortcut, in the shortcut select close on exit in properties.

CTRL+C will close out a good number DOS apps, though this is anything but universal. As far as I'm aware (and I used to write software for DOS), if your DOS app hangs or you can't quit, and you're not running in a dos box in Windows, you have to reboot to kill it.

My daughter has a pc with ms-dos on it. We are trying to figure out how to install windows98SE on it. We finally got it to tell us that we were to use the E:> for the cd-rom drive. It brought up the windows 98 but it wouldnt let us install it, saying something about failure reading PSI or something like that. Not sure what it was saying. Dont know much at all about a computer. Can anyone help us.

In regards to TrishK. I can probabl help you, but i need more information. 1. CD drive type (external/internal, make) 2. Whether you need to keep the data currently on the computer. 3. Do you have a Win98 boot floppy? 4. Does the pc have a floppy drive. What type is it - external/internal? 5. What are the general specs of the pc - RAM, Hard Disk size, processor. Give me these and I can probably provide and answer.
