HIMEM.SYS Freeze in CONFIG.SYS

Please help me, when i activate HIMEM.SYS in the CONFIG.SYS, it's simply freeze. then i try to use /verbose to see what happened, the HIMEM.SYS just freeze after the title Windows Expanded Memory Driver Version 4.95 Copyright 1988-1995 Microsoft Corp. that's it, no further notice maybe the himem.sys was corrupted?

It maybe that the himem.sys file is corrupted, or it may be that a memory "stick" (card) has gone bad.

Or, (I finally remembered what the third thing was) the memory sticks may need contact (finger/slot) cleaning and/or re-seating.

You could test the memory and memory access hardware with a good standalone memory test like DocMemory_v2.0 and/or MemTest86_v3.0. Just make their boot diskettes from the downloads and boot the system with the diskettes and test.
Check the BIOS setup for the memory. Look for a Gate-A20 option. Try changing it and see if that is effecting HIMEM.SYS.
