Comment: Hallo everybody, I have a bootmenu on my pc. So I can start directly to win or to dos. I want to to unhide (set active )a partion then I go to dos. If I go to win it should automaticly hide (set inactive ). I know there is just one byte do do this. I don't want use a comercial program Who can help me.

Reply: (edit)Also there is Ranish Partition Manager should you wish for it to handle hiding and unhiding partitions via its boot menu. It's freeware (thus not commercial) and works great. Do a web search for +"Ranish" +"partition manager".

Reply: (edit)Another possibly easier way to do it is to download the program Aefdisk from www.aefdisk.com . It is a command line partitioning table which means you can control partition functions from batch files, including hiding and unhiding partitions. The program is shareware. Hope that helps, ~Michael
