Is it possible ?. ps: It also tells me, can't access the file [ C:\ds.ini ] This was just before I tried to format it. Thank-you for time & patience. ~ Norm ~

To be quite honest, you didn't give a single piece of useful information. We need to know what you were doing that gave you the error. If you were formatting, what drive, which switches were you using, how big is your hard drive, how is it partitioned, how you are formatting(booting from floppy disk?) etc.

If you made a boot disk without access to extended memory (himem.sys), then just format your drive without the /s switch. Afterward use sys X: with X being the drive you are trying to add the system files to.
Summary: Ken, If you are trying to format a hard drive that still works-you can boot up to it, in DOS; Stick a clean floppy in the A drive type SYS A: or Format a: /s Either one will work. Then copy Format.com...
