I'm trying to open up a ghost program in DOS and am getting the error: Load Error: No DPMI Memory. Does anybody know a way around this? Thanks!

"DOS"?

As per Google - maybe try editing config.sys:

device=c:\dos\himem.sys /numhandles=128

(depending on file locations & boot device, natch)

Thanks for the help. I tried adding it and still get nothing. I don't really understand what the DPMI memory is and why the computer has this problem. It is a old Dell Optiplex GX1 (Circa 97') It has 64mb of ram on a PII. Any ideas? Thanks.

Well, I'm not familiar with that specific error - although DPMI (DOS Protected Mode Interface) would seem to indicate an issue with the DOS extender - usually cwsdpmi.exe

DOS extenders allow DOS applications to access memory beyond the paltry 640K normally available.

Sorry - not too sure what else to suggest other than googling (or using different/newer disk cloning software)

It would appear you are using a WINDOWS version of GHOST which uses PC(Norton)DOS, this version of DOS which in my opinion has many issues seems to be the cause, and maybe you should try re-creating the DOS Disks from within Windows. Later versions of Ghost are after all Windows software..

DPMI=DOS Protected Mode Interface

Most likely you need a DOS memory extender like DOS/4GW. It should have came with the program and it should reside in the directory where the program is installed.

Check out this page for the free DOS/4GW replacement binaries:
