This is not a DOS-related question but since you guys seem to be computer guru I just ask you guys then.
Where can I get a free FTP account? Purely FTP account NOT website with FTP access.

FTP is a data transmission protocol on the internet. You can't have an account to just access FTP.
First you get internet access,
then you choose the software you would like to use. Browsers like Netscape 4.5 for WWW use. WS FTP or similar FTP software for FTP site access. Telnet software for telnet site access.
You can't have a FTP account where all you can access is FTP because FTP is just one part of the internet.
So what you need to ask is where to get free internet access:
www.excite.com
www.yahoo.comthen, go to a site like:
www.davecentral.com
www.zdnet.comand search for ftp software programs.

Maybe Cyberman means that he wants an FTP account somewhere that isn't used for homepages, i.e noone else can read your files by http for example, but they have to login (with password) to your FTP account.
I don't think you will find a free FTP account in that fashion. All providers of free web space (that I have seen) make money on advertising and stuff like that through people's homepages. If you only had an FTP account, they wouldn't make money out of it, and I don't think many companies lend out their precious hard drive space for free that way.
