Hi,

I installed the DOS 7.1 but I can't connect
to a Novell network 4.11 because the command
LOAD, to load NLM files, is not recognized.

How do I uninstall 7.10 ?

Thanks for any help

Jalm

The command "LOAD" is not a standard DOS command and it's not recognized by any DOS. So "the command LOAD is not recognized" is completely normal in a normal DOS system. Only if you run some Netware servers, the network driver NIOS (Netware Input/Output Subsystem) or so used by Netware will provide LOAD/UNLOAD command and so forth as Netware OS's own additional DOS console commands. This means the correct Netware drivers must be be loaded before you can use LOAD/UNLOAD command to load/unload any other NLM (Netware Loadable Module) files. Thus, if you want to use such nonstandard DOS commands, then have you loaded the Netware drivers (maybe in AUTOEXEC.BAT) correctly?

FYI: If you want to uninstall DOS, then you need to remove all the DOS files.

Wengier,

Thanks for your help. I can now log in into
my network. I found out that the LFN stuff
was the responsible of the not recognition
of the command LOAD by the NIOS. I understand that the LFN must be activated if my HD FAT is 32b, am I right? otherwise I can't have the LFN feature ?

I want to test your DOS version, I really like the 639MB in my conventional memory.WOW!

Thank you.
