Comment:

I am using DOS 7.10 that came with Windows98SE and I found its quite kripled compared to DOS 6.22.
My question is, is there a way I can install/download the HELP file for DOS 7.10?
Thanks in advance, Lynne

this is not a dos question it is a windows question. If your using dos 622, it would have help files. Since I don't use Windows 98, I don't know.

I think it is a fair enough question. Lynne wants to use MS-DOS, whether it's DOS 6.22 with win3x installed or DOS 7.01 with win'98 is beside the point. There isn't a 7.01 help file as such, but MS does provide this page which is chock-a-block with useful info:

Valid DOS problem I would say!

Download OLDDOS.EXE from the Windows 9x page at www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk this contains the MS-DOS 6.22 help files (and other DOS utilities) left out of Windows 95 (MS-DOS 7.0) which will work just as well with Windows 98 (MS-DOS 7.10) and make your DOS more like 6.22

Good Luck

Thank you boyh for your input. I will download OLDDOS.EXE and install on WIN98.

ps: I do use 6.22 with WFWG311 on my other PC. I'm trying to get DOS 7.1 on WIN98 to behave and responds as much as possible like DOS 6.22
