OS: Dos 6.22
CPU/Ram: Pentium 4 1.6/512
Comment:

I created a boot disk for dos 6.22 and so far everything is going 'ok'. Just one minor issue... I'm not sure how to get my hard drive to work.

I currently have windows xp as well. Is the reason my hard drive isn't working because it is formatted for windows xp? Please let me know about how I can fix this problem.

If you have XP chances are your drive is formatted NTFS which dos can`t see unless you have installed a patch.
These are available from here:

http://www.sysinternal.com/
or http://www.wininternals.com/
or http://www.wininternal.com/

I am using the FAT32 file system. I can get my hard drive to work with higher versions of dos, just not 6.22. I am fiddling with conventional memory settings in dos 6.22 but don't know how to do the same thing in higher versions, which is why I need to use 6.22.

So I suppose I can either get the hard drive to work with 6.22 or I can learn how to fiddle with dos 7.10 memory settings. If anyone has information on either that would be great.

Thanks

Elias

I have a problem, the computer recognize my disk on the setup, but it doesn`t boot from the hard disk. So, i tried booting from a floppy disk, and when I do that, I can read and write on my hard disk, it`s so weird. I have windows98, so i went to the windows`s folder, then to win.com and I got the blue screen:
VFAT DEVICE INITIALIZATION FAILED
A device or resource required by VFAT is not present or is unnavailable. VFAT cannot continue loading.
System halted.

Hope somebody to help me.Thanks.
