I got two old hard drives from a college garage sale but all that is on them is Conner & made in Malaysia. They have more numbers.

ACB3Y58
CP30064H
GAT03
9230
C006422

They have no CYL, HDS, SECT like hard drives do imprinted on them. How do I find out this information if its not imprinted on the Hard disk? And why would manufacturers of these old drives do this anyway.

Most BIOSes, even some of the older ones, can autodetect drive parameters for you. Plug one in and give it a try.
Otherwise, try searching Conner and some of the numbers on it.

Seagate bought out Conner and they do a good job, (so far), of maintaining old info for both Seagate and Conner hard drives;
