Hi,
If this happens just with some particular diskette, then it might be this diskette has some non standard format. I mean it can have more then 80 tracks or more then 18 sectors per track. Usually Windows can read such diskette without a problem, but to read it in DOS you need special driver like 800.com for example.
But if you can't read any diskette at all, check out CMOS settings for the floppy drive. May be the type of drive was set incorrect.
