For question #1...

If you are at the "C" prompt in DOS, all you need know is the name of the directory the game is installed in.
You can find this out by checking MY COMPUTER or FILE MANAGER in Windows, or at the "C" prompt by typing DIR/P.
Hit ENTER and keep scrolling down until you find that directory. Once you have located it and are at the "C" prompt again, type in CD (change directory), followed by the "\" key and the name of the correct directory.
Once there, type DIR again and hit the ENTER key.
Check any README files (unless you understand DOS commands, these are easier to read in Windows MY COMPUTER), see if you need to run a SETUP, and look for a .exe file.
Usually (but not always) that .exe file is the games start-up file.
For instance, if you have the original DOS games Rise of the Triad, DOOM, or Wolfenstein-3D, what you would end up typing would look like this --->

C:\ ROTT\rott
C:\ DOOM\doom
C:\ WOLF3D\wolf3d

Also, you can add these as "shortcuts" to your Windows desk top. Just locate the directory in MY COMPUTER, find the .exe with the symbol that looks like a small WINDOWS screen, righ click your mouse, and use "create shortcut". There may be two files with the same name. Do NOT use the one that has the MSDOS symbol... that is a .PIF file.

For question #2...

You need to add an actual MOUSE driver entry into your AUTOEXEC.BAT file (if I remember correctly, all you need to enter is the word MOUSE at the end of this file) and a seperate MOUSE directory in your C Drive with a "generic" mouse driver. ANY plain old fashioned 2 or 3 button Microsoft mouse should do just fine for this.

I hope you found this to be helpful... ENJOY!
