Comment:
I have installed MS DOS 6.22 on system.I have run MSWGCN.EXE after I had downloaded them from internet. MSWGCN has guided me to install driver for LAN card, and I have instaled DOS driver for D-LINK 530TX card. But, on next boot time a message apears on the screen: *D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter *Driver *NDIS2 DOS Driver V4.10(20/06/2002) * *MAC0006: Network Interface Not Found or Not *Responding *MAC0001: Initialization Failure * *A:\>C:\DOS\net start *Microsoft Netbind version 2.1 *Error 5733: The protocol manager has *reported an incomplete binding *
I have tried to change PCI slot and change slot number in device setup, but usucesfuly.
Does someone know wahat a problem is ?
Does DOS support TCP/IP? If they don't support TCP/IP, how can I use FTP on DOS?
Thanks for advices! But I still haven't solved problem with LAN card instalation. Can I Install LAN card manualy, and how? Do you have any link for treobleshooter or HOW TO install LAN card driver under DOS?
Unfortunately for Windows Users used to installing one driver, MS-DOS and Compatable does not work like that.
First you have to decide what LAN Software you wish to install, then locate the correct driver for the Protocol it uses.
In the case of you original posting re: "DOS Client for Workgroup Networks", you need to manually set the IRQ and IOBASE as well as choosing the correct NETBEUI Driver, I believe the NDIS Drivers are for TCP/IP.
As the tittle of the post is FTP for DOS then then "DOS Client for Workgroup Networks" will not suffice and as mentioned above you need to setup the WATTCP v0.7 Client, this will require loading a Packet Driver http://83.67.55.228/autoexec.htm etcetcetc
