I am trying to connect to a system using the hostname but the port is not the standard 21 How can I use the hostname of the system and tell it to use a port 5555(example)

Summary: I dont understand how to use the dos FTP command. I type ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and it says connect and gives me a number. Then I try a command and it says im not connected. What am I doing wrong? ...

Summary: It it possible, but not via FTP (I think). FTP's set of commands is powerful .. but it is not telnet .. What are want to do, can be done via telnet no problem, possible there are FTP commands I am not...
