I can boot all the way up to just after the PCI device listing. The system configuartion looks right and all my drives are listed. At this point, the computer freezes.
I tried to boot from a boot disk and use the sys command but it says that both my hard drives do not exist.
I am at a loss...this is my work computer and I need to be working!!!

Hi,
If both your HDDs are listed in CMOS but you can't access them it might be the virus work. Try to boot with boot disk and perform virus check.
Good luck, Igor M

comes the MS-DOS booting... message? press f8 and don't run autoexec + co(nfig.sys)
maybe a driver or so may (.exe/.com) in it may be corrupted and hang the pc)
there are ide-load-from-prompt drivers around on the inet...
