formatting in dos mode

i need to format my computer and i lost my format disk, not to sure what the command line is for formatting in dos if someone could please help it would be appreciated.

All you need to do is go to a differerent drive than the one you are formating, ex A:, D:. And type format on the command line. ex a:\>format c: then type yes. When the drive is formated you will need to either boot from the OS cd you wish to install or if you cdrom is not bootable use a floppy boot disk created from the os to get to the cd.

Make yourself a 'System' Bootdisk: Insert Floppy in Drive A: At C:\ prompt type FORMAT A:/s and press ENTER Copy over FORMAT.COM, SYS.COM, and FDISK.exe You now have your Bootdisk!
