Formatting but can't get to prompt

I have been trying to format my hard drive but i can't get to dos prompt?! I have tried a bootdisk but that won't work either. What can I do to format it?? Can I just pull the motherboard or hard drive??? OR what?

Please help ASAP!!!

what errors are you getting?

Have you tried FDisk and delete / re-create the partition?

did the format stall or stop part way through?

Need more info please.
P.S. There is a chance the the hard disk is nackered, but try to format it again.

What version of DOS do you have?

What size HardDrive do you have?

MS-DOS 6 and before cannot handle over 2Gigs
Early BIOSs cannot handle more than 512MBs

You may have to run FDISK to Partition your drive if this is the problem.
